Shiyao Liu

Born and raised in China, Shiyao discovered his love for storytelling early on, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Tongji University. He began his career as an editor at Shanghai Media Group, where he had the opportunity to cover major events like the Beijing Olympics for the company’s digital streaming platforms.

At 26, Shiyao made the move to Canada, continuing his journey in media and communication. He completed a Master’s in Journalism Studies at Concordia University in Montréal, where his research examined how Canadian media portrayed events in China through a cultural lens. That experience deepened his appreciation for how stories shape perception—a perspective that continues to guide his work today.

Over the years, Shiyao has worked with organizations ranging from large corporations like Morneau Shepell to export-focused businesses in Ottawa and Vancouver, helping brands connect with their audiences both locally and globally.

Guided by the belief that every brand has a story worth telling, Shiyao leads marketing and sales campaigns grounded in strategic thinking, thorough research, and creative insight. His work bridges data and culture to help businesses grow through messages that genuinely resonate with their audiences
